Close your eyes and picture images of Sarasota and its glittering people. Much of that mental image was born in the mind’s eye of Barbara Banks. The principle photographer behind the award-winning Barbara Banks Photography, Banks has captured Sarasota’s people and places in a wide-ranging portfolio that includes hard-hitting editorial works, dynamic corporate and advertising images, and striking fashion and wedding photography. Her subject matter doesn’t begin and end with Sarasota, though; her lens captures people and places around the world, and her fine art prints are exhibited and collected around the country. So what’s new with Banks these days? Always on the move, Banks recently moved her headquarters to a spacious studio/gallery in Sarasota’s trendy Rosemary District. “Change is good,” she says. “As a photographer, I’m always striving for a fresh point of view. BANKS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY MAKES KNOT MAGAZINE “BEST OF” LIST

>> New York-based Knot magazine has named Barbara Banks Photography to its “Best of” list of featured photographers on Florida’s west coast. The ranking is based on an annual survey of more than 24,000 newlyweds. Banks’ work was also recognized during this year’s Addy competition.
